Vacation and BG
One might think that when one goes on vacation, one also stops taking readings of their sugar. But, as a Diabetic, whether T1 or T2, you cannot do that.
I am planning on going to Hilton Head, S.C. with my mom for one week from April 26 to May 3, 2008. During this time, to which I will not have internet access, I will log everything I eat, quantity and also the BG readings. I will post these results after I get back from vacation.

A1C Test coming up
On April 24, 2008, I have an appointment with my doctor to find out what my A1C reading will be. It has been 3 months since my diagnosis. I am holding well to the portion control plan, getting exercise at least 1/2 of the week and checking my BG reading daily. To date, unofficially I have dropped from 320 to 297. My BG readings are generally good, except for the mornings where they are still a little high, but I think this is due to the allergies - hayfever. I will ask my doctor at the appointment if he can give me a prescription. I will post the results after that meeting.

Diary entry for March 31 to April 6, 2008
Well, this week stars the lawn mowing season. For now, I am using a push mower, not because I am nuts to mow 1.75 acres with a push mower, but because of 2 reasons; (1) The riding mower needs work on the deck and new blades and a new battery and (2) I need the exercise.
Continuing my battle with hayfever allergies, BG readings may be higher than normal. I am getting exercise daily now. Even have a new update on my weight to show this week.
Menu has been simple: cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread for BK, HB egg in mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacktime, salad (cucumber / tomatoe / cheese) & 1/2 roasted chicken for L, 1 pork chop and veggies for dinner. Lots of water and some decaf tea. No coffee.
