Today took a break at lunch and went walking - did 2 miles in 34 minutes. That is a record for me. My goal is to do 15 minutes / mile. The terrain I walked on was not all f lat. It was rolly, being that I walked around the Cullman High School Bldgs and ffootball / baseball fields. Temps were around 67-70 degrees, but it felt like 72. Sunny with a slight breeze.
Will go again tomorrow at lunch.

Breakfast:
1 cup cereal
1 cup fat-free milk
1/4 cup no-sugar added apple sauce
8 oz V8

When the body fights an illness or a cold ....
Since getting over the flu and now battling sniffles, sneezing and a mild cough, the body can raise the sugar levels just from this fight. So, here are my readings to represent that fight.

As for the food, my menu has been rather simple this week. I eat eight 2 slices of WASA crisp bread with a meat spread or cheese slice OR 1 bowl of cold toasted cheerios w/ 2% milk OR 1 bowl of hot low-sugar oatmeal w/ 2% milk for breakfast, then either a tuna salad w/ crackers & apple sauce OR a home-cooked meal for lunch and for dinner usually a home-cooked meal. I have been drinking mainly decaf tea or coffee and lots of water.
I have slowly increased my exercise again. Yesterday morning I did 15 minutes rowing. The day before, I did 15 minutes rowing in the morning and evening, in addition to a 30-minute walk during lunch.
I plan on doing exercise again tonight, as well as this weekend.

Diabetic Supplies
I found a place yesterday on the internet where I can get my Ultra Touch 2 testing strips cheaper than where I currently get them.
The website is: www.americandiabeteswholesale.com
I currently get my test strips in boxes of 100 at CVS. Using the discount I get from the program MedcoRxDiscountprogram.com, I pay $100.25 for one box of 100 strips.
The site I found, listed one box of the same strips at $69.30. Add $6.95 for shipping and handling and that totals $76.25.
That is a $24 savings.
For a person without health insurance, that is $$$ in the pocket.
